These ‘toys’ are killing our kids

When it comes to protecting kids online, tech CEOs talk a big talk — testifying to Congress about “how seriously” they take the issue, writing personal posts and assuring journalists that safety is “above anything else we do.” Meanwhile, their companies funnel millions of dollars into lobbying groups like Net Choice, TechNet and the Computers & Communications Industry Association for the purpose of killing any legislation that tries to protect privacy, limit addictive design or prevent product features that trick kids into revealing personal data.
